- Simon Robinson Review added: 2018.11.22★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Not pleased with the service. Showed up to catch my train 20 mins prior to departure. The ticket machines were all down, so I along with several other passengers went to the help desk. The agent told all of us to just show our email of our reservation bookings via email and then collect the tickets at Kings Cross. No major issues or complaints, it happens.
Then get on the train and get lectured by the ticket collection person explaining this is the wrong procedure. He abruptly calls the station where a gentleman answers and says the terminals have been intermittently down. I'm then told this by the agent to which I responded they must have been down when I tried to get my tickets then.
I don't appreciate being lectured to, made to feel like I've stolen something by not paying (when I can provide my email confirmation and payment receipt). If the systems are down and the station staff can't recommend the correct procedure, that's not my problem.
